Snowdon Rocks - The highest concert in Wales and England staged by
Alarm singer Mike Peters and his cancer charity the Love Hope Strength
Foundation has raised a staggering £40,000 which is being donated
to local cancer treatment / care centers throughout North Wales.
Snowdon Rocks - the event which (will take place again next year), involved
Mike Peters and a hardy band of fans and friends, hospital medical staff
and a team of Royal Welsh Guards walking to the summit of Snowdon to take
part in a Mike Peters acoustic concert. The weather was kind and everyone
was rewarded with a full 360 degree view of North Wales. Mike Peters also
staged sell out concerts at Rhyl Town Hall and Caernarfon Galeri.
Mike who regularly receives treatment for Leukaemia (CLL) at the Alaw
Unit in Bangor is currently at home in North Wales preparing for The Gathering
(The Alarm's annual two day extravaganza that brings Alarm fans from around
the world to pay homage to their local heros). Mike Peters who has recently
returned from Mt. Everest having performed and broken the record for the
'World's the highest concert on land', is taking time out from rehearsals
at Venue Cymru to present cheques for the following ammounts to his chosen
beneficiaries. Mike Peters has also recently been honoured by Newi Wrexham
